Winners of the invitational match which is part of the 43rd Independence Day celebrations will walk away with US$35,000 while the losing finalists are set to pocket US$25,000.

In 2022, government pegged the prize money for the match at US$25 000 for the winners and US$15 000 runners up.

This time oil giant Sakunda Holdings who are the principal sponsor of the two sides did not chip in with financial assistance.

In last year’s edition their principal sponsor, owned by businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei, set aside a mouthwatering bonus package of US$60,000.

Winners collected US$30 000 and losers US$9 000 while the difference was for the top goal scorer, best goalkeeper (for keeping a clean sheet), members of the technical team, as well as the match’s outstanding player.
