Prophet Walter Magaya side Yadah FC released three young Brazilian players they signed in July 2023 eight months into their two-year-deal each.
A source that spoke to Bhorafrika cited fitness concerns and difficulties adjusting as reasons for their release.
“They went back to Brazil, their fitness level was a concern and besides, they could not adjust,” said the source.
Joao Pedro Barcellos, Deivid Pereira De Brito, and Juan Luciano Farias were unveiled at Yadah Hotel in Waterfalls, Harare in the previous campaign.
Yadah had hoped the South American players would boost their performance upon their arrival at the club as the Miracle Boys were fighting relegation.
“We want to welcome these Brazilian players whom we expect will change the face of domestic league. They will certainly add value to Yadah FC,” said Magaya at the unveiling ceremony.
However, their ‘gamble’ failed dismally as the Samba Boys could not live up to the billing and they were let go before the 2024 Castle Lager PSL season.
