US-based Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe is nearing a return from injury three months after suffering a serious fracture on his right ankle.

The leg injury has seen the 27-year-old Houston Dynamo versatile defender missing action since the beginning of May.

In May, Hadebe took to his Twitter account to thank a group of Dynamo’s doctors led by Dr. Greaser after undergoing a successful surgery.

“Road to recovery. Big thanks to Dr Greaser and his team on a successful surgery thankful for all the support from my family, friends and teammates Houston Dynamo. Can’t wait to be back,” Hadebe tweeted.

Speaking to bhorafrika.com on Monday, the Zimbabwean international defender said he is undergoing rehab.

Hadebe also added that he is likely to fully recover end of September or at the start (first week) of October.

“I thank God that I’m now feeling better. I pray that very soon I will be back in action. I have started rehab, but most likely I will fully recover between end of September and early October,” he said.

So far, the former Kaizer Chiefs and Chicken Inn defender has missed over 15 Houston Dynamo matches.

Hadebe’s return could be a huge relief to the incoming Warriors coach ahead of the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers scheduled for November.

The gangly defender who has represented Zimbabwe at two successive AFCON finals editions in 2019 and 2021 is one of the regular defenders likely to be at the heart of the Warriors defence.
