African giants Morocco kickstarted their World Cup campaign positively after holding the tournament’s runners-up in 2018 to a goalless draw in a Group F fixture that was played at Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The 0-0 stalemate which is the third goalless draw in 24 hours at the just started 2022 World Cup held in Qatar comes as a confidence booster to the Atlas Lions who will play Belgium ranked second in the world in their next match on Sunday.

Despite having fielded four of their stars including Luka Modric who played in the World Cup final four years ago, Croatia failed to break the defence of a well determined and confident Morocco.

Morocco’s best chances fell on their utility player Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui.
