ZIMBABWEAN prospect Trey Nyoni (16) on Thursday got a taste of what it feels like training with the world’s best after Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp invited him to train with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Alexis Mac Allister and Darwin Nunez.

Nyoni joined Klopp’s 27-man squad at the AXA Training Centre ahead of their 5-1 Europa League win over French side Toulouse. European rules do not allow him to play in the competition.

According to reports, his call up is an indication of how well he has started life at Anfield having been signed from Leicester and instantly become instrumental in Liverpool’s development sides.

He has scored four and assisted thrice in five matches so far.

What Zimbabwe could miss out on if Nyoni opts for England whose U17 he has already represented

“It is a significant vote of confidence for Nyoni, who joined the club from Leicester over the summer and has since scored four goals and notched three assists in five academy games,” wrote This Is Anfield.

“The youngster was “tracked by every top club” and it was Liverpool who signed the talented midfielder. The club will be eager to temper expectations over the 16-year-old, but Nyoni earned his chance to rub shoulders with Liverpool’s first team during Thursday’s pre-Toulouse training session.”

Nyoni is son to Zimbabwean parents based in the United Kingdom and could make an appearance for the Warriors if he does not opt for England where he has already made it into its Under 17 squad once.
