Already, Simba Bhora fans have written to the club’s President, Simba ‘Buju’ Ndoro, demanding the sacking of ex-Warriors assistant coach Tonderai Ndiraya after a poor start with the league’s new boys.

In fact, the disgruntled Simba supporters were clear in their letter to the president:

“….if the coach [Ndiraya] fails to collect four points in the next two matches [vs Highlanders and Bulawayo Chiefs] he should be shown the exit door,” the furious club’s fans wrote a fortnight ago.

Now that he picked two ‘crucial’ points against a Highlanders side which is still to taste a defeat and managed to halt Chiefs who have been enjoying a fine winning streak with four wins on the trot, are the fans still maintaining their stance?

Nevertheless, the decision to fire Stanza as Ndiraya is nicknamed, wholly remains the club owner, Simba ‘Buju’ Ndoro’s task.

But speaking to The Herald earlier in May, Ndoro who is concerned with his team’s poor performance, backed Ndiraya.

Ndiraya, who once worked under highly rated Kalisto Pasuwa during the days of a history making Dynamos that won four league titles in row, has his boss’ support.

Buju urged fans to be patient, believe in the process, and give the tactician more time to work on his team.

He also urged them to judge the coach only when his side starts using its home ground Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva which they used in division one league.

At the moment, Simba Bhora are using National Sports Stadium as their home ground because Wadzanai Stadium does not meet minimum standards to host top flight matches.

However, with wins looking elusive to the premier league debutants, the question is still on Ndiraya’s job, is it safe after the recent results despite the backing from Buju?

In his next assignment, the former Ngezi Platinum Stars head coach faces Caps United at National Sports on Sunday.

Simba are currently in the relegation zone, seated on 14th position with 10 points, four points and four places above table anchors Black Rhinos after 10 matches.
