The 26-year-old central defender whom champions FC Platinum were reportedly interested in his signature in January confirmed the new development.
“Yes, I’m in South Africa training with the club but I’m not yet officially signed. At the moment, I only signed a pre-contract,” he said.
His contract with the demoted Harare City is set to expire on 31 December.
Chapusha could join his compatriots in Ishmael Wadi and Temptation Chiwunga who are already in the books of the Hammer Boys.
The National First Division side were recently home to other Zimbabwean players in Blessing Sarupinda and Tapiwa Mandinyenya.
Sarupinda re-joined CAPS United while Mandinyenya now plays for Mhondoro based side Ngezi Platinum Stars.
JDR Stars who missed out on top flight promotion last season after being beaten in PSL play-offs are currently seated fourth on the log table with 18 points after 12 games in the on-going campaign.
They are seven points behind former premier league boys Polokwane City who are the log leaders with 25 point with a game in hand.
