The ex-Warriors midfielder injured his tendon and Makepekepe’s team doctor, Mordecai Sachikonye confirmed:

“Yes, he is injured and he is undergoing careful rehabilitation. Unfortunately it’s a long standing injury, and he has received treatment in various countries,” he said.

Rusike, who was spotted seated in the terraces when the Caps United beat ZPC Kariba 1-0 on Sunday, is training with the rest of the squad but could miss more action owing to lack of match fitness.

Despite Caps United’s good start to the season, head coach Lloyd Chitembwe will be hoping the 33-year-old experienced midfielder gets to full fitness earlier to have more options in attack.
