In their third meeting, with the first two having ended goalless, there were goals between teams coached by Tonderai Ndiraya and Baltemar Brito when Simba Bhora thrashed Highlanders 3 nil.
The coaches faced off on match day 26 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro on 7 October.
Red hot Simba Bhora midseason acquisition Tymon Machope broke the deadlock in the 10th minute and Tinashe Balakasi scored twice before the break to complete the rout.
Overall, both Simba Bhora and Highlanders have not been prolific in front of goal thus far. Despite scoring just 19 goals in 26 games, Highlanders is still third on the log standings with 43 points. Simba Bhora has scored 22 times and is on ninth position with 32 points.
The latest setback is Bosso’ is Bosso’s fourth loss in seven games. In that period, Brito’s men won only once against Yadah and they drew 1 all with Sheasham. Their titanic clash with Dynamos was suspended due to crowd trouble and the Premier Soccer League has not yet determined the outcome of the match.
Simba Bhora has been somewhat consistent of late, managing three wins, three draws and one loss in their last seven games. The somewhat purple patch has seen Tonderai Ndiraya’s men steering five points off the relegation zone.
