The 23-year-old right back who has been at the club since 2019 will be deputised by new recruit Kevin Moyo who joined from Bulawayo Chiefs.

Frank Makarati, its towering defender will lead the team as Captain, replacing Partson Jaure who was released by new coach Herbert Marowa.

28-year-old Makarati was voted third best player last season after marshalling the DeMbare defence with aplomb. He stood on the top three podium with winner Walter Musona and runners-up William Manondo.

The Dynamos captaincy comes with a double cab Ford Ranger provided by the club sponsor, Sakunda Holdings.

DeMbare signed Makarati from Ngezi Platinum in 2021 on year two year contract. Attention from clubs in South Africa and Zambia saw the Harare side tying him down for an unspecified period earlier this year.

Although the club was yet to formally announce his appointment, Makarati had already been performing duties expected of a captain.

“On behalf of the players, I would like to say we are ready to rumble on the field of play. Everyone is raring to go and the excitement is impressive,” he told members of the DeMbare executive in February.

“We are all looking forward to a fruitful 2023 as Dynamos. I have been at the club for the past two years and I think it’s high time we star posting good results and numbers.”
