The versatile centre-back, known for his leadership and defensive prowess, has signed a two-year deal with the Shamva Boys to end a nine-year stint with Amakhosi.
Now seeking new challenges and greener pastures, Mkolo has finally decided to pack his bags to head north to the Shamva Boys after remaining loyal to Chiefs last season despite club’s financial difficulties.
“Mkolo’s transfer to Simba Bhora is a done deal. He agreed to terms with the club last month,” a source close to the negotiations revealed.
Mkolo’s departure is not the only blow for Bulawayo Chiefs who recently re-appointed Thulani Sibanda as their head coach for the upcoming Castle Lager PSL season.
They are also set to lose highly rated former Ngezi Platinum Stars winger, Billy Verumu, who is reportedly about to commmit to a two-year deal with Simba Bhora.
