SOME former players hope ex-Warriors talisman Khama Billiat and Captain Knowledge Musona will be asked to reconsider their retirement as Zimbabwe braces for November’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Dynamos forward Norman Maroto and his Caps United counterpart Alois Bunjira have put their heads on the block, proposing that whoever will be appointed the Warriors Coach consider calling both boys back.
Their comments come days after FIFA announced Zimbabwe’s return to international football after a year and a half of isolation.
They also follow CAF’s World Cup draw in which Zimbabwe face off with Nigeria, South Africa, Benin, Rwanda and Lesotho.
Bunjira’s argument is that Zimbabwe’s senior side, which is widely expected to be new-look, will need a number of experienced players to guide it.
“Now that international football is back; we have a Normalisation Committee to steer football forward after dark days of the past and Zimbabwe being placed in a fair World Cup group I think it is a perfect platform for Musona and Billiat to come out of their forced retirement and carry the torch with the Warriors for one last push while we sort out our development structures to groom their future replacements.
“We all know why Musona and Billiat retired from the Warriors. All that is sorted now. The culprits are gone.
“I hope Musona and Khama reconsider their decisions and come back to the Warriors for this mission.”
Musona and Billiat quit the national side after a tumultuous 2019 AFCON campaign which was largely blamed on the then Felton Kamambo led ZIFA executive.
Zimbabwe marks its return between 13 and 21 November CAF’s Match Day one of the qualifiers.
“Zvisina ma feelings mukati boys iri richiri kudiwa as we build our juggernaut. Ana Mason Mushore, Mthokozisi Msebe, Donald Mudadi and Bill Antonio vadzidze from the best. Bhora rekunyika rine mhondoro dzeko,” said Norman Maroto.
